Artist Jan Blough hand cuts lithographed silhouettes and matches them with antique papers to form beautiful, one of a kind, silhouette ornaments. The ornaments have beveled glass and hand soldered edges.
While fixing up their old (1870) house for a historic home tour, Jan and her husband came across a ledger inside a wall and decided to turn it into wall art that told a story. Jan cut out a silhouette of what she imagined the original homeowner to have looked like, and used the old document as a background. She then framed it and hung it on the wall.
For twenty years now, Jan has made beloved, keepsake sihouette ornaments. I think I bought my first Rabbit ornament from her in 2007 and it hangs from the key in my antique pine china cabinet.
You will love her ornaments!
